dopefiend states that the water does not stop any of the . tar's. because they are not water soluble. so then i thought what if someone used olive oil or veggie oil instead of water in a bong??? any thoughts on this?

This did not . remove. the . tar. . Instead I picked up my own small rock collection. Now I had macadam feet. Farmer Rick helped me as we used bigger rocks to scrape off the . tar. and smaller rocks. Only I got one of these rocks stuck on my hand ...

Do I need to remove tar from floor before I tile it ?
Q. I removed lino tiles which has left what appears to be a thin layer of tar type adhesive on the concrete floor. Do I need to remove this or can I tile straight over it.

A. Not required, paint over the tar with a sealant and then apply a bonding coat to allow the tiles to adhere to the floor.

How do I remove black tar paper from wood floors?
Q. We have removed all of the sticky tiles that were on the floor. We discovered that the black tar paper was on the back of them. After using a scraper (too time consuming) I noticed there are beautiful hardwoods under all that black paper. I would like to know what to use to have the paper come up easier even if I have to scrap afterwards. Sanding will be done later but the paper has to come up first. Thanks for you help.

A. It's not tar paper, It's rosin paper laid over strip flooring with asphalt ashesive to adhere vinyl tiles down. The floor needs to be sanded, Period. A pole scraper will ruin the floor. Just hand scrape up as much as you can and buy extra sanding belts as they will clog with the adhesive.

How can I remove a asphalt tar stain from a colored paver block?
Q. Just had new pavers installed. During the install of the new asphalt driveway, some tar got onto one of the pavers. I would like to remove the stain without removing the color (brown) from the paver. I was thinking bug and tar remover?

A. I've found that a VERY small amount of gasoline and a wire brush gets out most tar stains. If it's a paver stone, can you try to flip it over? The colors I think are baked into the stone, so it should be color through and through.
