How do I go about collecting unemployment the first time?
Q. I am having trouble finding the appropriate lsitings in the phone book and I don't know where to go to find out how to begin the process of collecting unemployment... Where do I go? A. you don't have to go or look up anything. just call 1-800-300-5616. press the right keypads to help you start the "file a new claim" menu. it's pretty self-explanatory if you just listen and it is communicated with very simple terms and comprehension. you will need to have ready ahead of time a couple of things in front of you before you dial. you need your soc. sec. #. ; name, address, phone number, and your occupation of your last employer. you will be eligible for benefits, only if you are a state or private school employee that has been laid off for seasonal or government funding; an ex-employee of a government or county agency, have been injured on or off the job, and are unable to return to that same position ever again due to… [cont.]
