Research can be defined as the search for knowledge or as any systematic investigation to establish facts. The primary purpose for applied research (as opposed to basic research) is discovering, interpreting, and the development of methods and systems for the advancement of human knowledge on a wide variety of scientific matters of our world and the universe. Research can use the scientific method, but need not do so. Scientific research relies on the application of the scientific method, a harnessing of curiosity. This research provides scientific information and theories for the explanation of the nature and the properties of the world around us. It makes practical applications possible. Scientific research is funded by public authorities, by charitable organizations and by private groups, including many companies. Scientific research can be subdivided into different classifications according to their academic and application disciplines. Artistic research, also seen as 'practice-based research', can take form when creative works are considered both the research and the object of research itself. It is the debatable body of thought which offers an alternative to purely scientific methods in research in its search for knowledge and truth. Historical research is embodied in the scientific method. The phrase my research is also used loosely to describe a person's entire collection of information about a particular subject. This question has fascinated me for a while...just a simple answer is needed- thx Asked by crayZrocker - Wed Jun 20 11:58:16 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. well researchers found the size of the planet not by going around it and measuring it but by using location of many different points on the earth and the angles it forms with unmoving planetary objects (usually the north star) they use geometry to find the circumference the layers were first discovered by scientist many years ago when they noticed different colored layering of mountains and cliffs using seismic (i don't think i spelled it right) waves they can determine the density and depth of the many layers of the earth right to the core thanks to technology and advanced mathematics we now know much about the inside of the earth but not enough Answered by nycnazifa - Wed Jun 20 12:09:09 2007 Is there a site or anyway to know if there are researchers looking for research assistant in Japan? Try the websites of various Japanese universities. Kyoto has some phenomenal research programs. The websites are probably in multiple languages in case you don't speak Japanese, but I'm guessing that you do. Q. If AIDS researchers were provided with infinte funds, how long would it take for the mto find a cure? Asked by Moto R - Tue Feb 9 23:54:52 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Who knows? Even if they had an infinite amount of money, they would still be lacking knowledge. Yes, with money you can invent new systems and methods of observation and whatnot. But you have to think of those methods first. Hopefully, they will find something soon. But really, no one can predict when, if ever, AIDS will become as nonexistent as Polio, for example.
